How Your Thermostat Works

Your thermostat governs the thermal comfort in your home.

Your thermostat measures the air temperature inside your house and decides when to call the furnace for heating or the air conditioner for cooling.  A common misconception is that the thermostat works like a valve, the higher you set it the more that comes out.  Actually, this is not how it works.
